Clint Dempsey pulls a Paul Galvin on referee

Clint Dempsey has gone and done a bit of a Paul Galvin here.

The Kerry footballer got into hot water for slapping the notebook out of a referee’s hands in 2008 but Dempsey has taken things a step further.

The Seattle Sounders player threw the notebook to the ground in protest but then picked it up to rip it into pieces.

Dempsey then returned to the Galvin script, being restrained by a teammate and berating a linesman before departing.

The similarities between the USA skipper and former Kerry captain’s indiscretions are clear.
