Swiss investigators are probing 53 possible money-laundering incidents as part of their investigation into the bids for the 2018 and 2022 FIFA World Cups.

Michael Lauber, the Swiss attorney general, told a news conference in Bern that “53 suspicious banking relations” had been uncovered but that the investigation could take years, such is the volume of computer data to be examined.
