McClean on Grealish: ‘If anyone doesn't want to play then so be it’

Ireland player McClean was asked about the situation on BBS radio yesterday and felt Grealish should be left to make the decision himself.
“If you don't want to play for a country then you shouldn't play for them,” he said. “I'm sure the lad will make whatever decision he makes”.
McClean understands the situation better than most, having played at youth level for Northern Ireland before declaring for the Republic at senior level.
He made clear he didn’t want any teammates who weren’t committed to the Irish cause.
“I love playing for my country and all the rest of the lads do who play there”, he said. “If anyone doesn't want to play then so be it.
“Go and play for someone else, that's my view of it.”
