VIDEO: Ajax came up with an unusual way to celebrate Mother’s Day
Dutch club Ajax came up with a novel way of letting their footballers spend time with their mothers on a special day.
Yesterday was Mother’s Day in many parts of the world, including the Netherlands.
Ajax invited their players’ mothers to join them at the match, and walk their sons out on to the pitch in place of the usual mascots.
The club explained their reasoning on Twitter: "If they can't visit us on matchday, let's visit them!".
Looks like the mothers were delighted to be involved.

The manager was probably pretty happy too. There’s nothing like being under the beady eye of his mum to make a son behave, no matter what age he is.
