Raheem Sterling pictured smoking a shisha pipe

Raheem Sterling is coming in for a lot of criticism after a picture was published today apparently showing the Liverpool player smoking a shisha pipe.

The picture was published in The Sunday Mirror, who described the pipe as being potentially “as strong as 200 cigarettes”.

The picture, which first appeared on Snapchat, was captioned: “1 down another 3 to go”, seemingly a reference to more pipes waiting to be smoked by the young footballer and his friends.

The pictures will do nothing to improve Sterling's standing with Liverpool fans.

The 20-year-old winger's refusal to sign a new contract, with a £100k a week salary on offer, has angered many club supporters.
