VIDEO: Liverpool players believe YouTube free kick sensation is a fan

Four Liverpool players were duped into believing they were meeting a fan who had won a competition to get a free kick masterclass, but actually met Dutchman Bas Van Velzen - famous online for his dead ball technique.

Mario Balotelli, Rickie Lambert, Lazar Markovic and Fabio Borini met Bas at their Melwood training ground.

His first few kicks showed off the phenomenal skills that have won him millions of views on YouTube, and the players quickly realised Bas was not a regular fan.

They applauded his skill before joining him to pull off a few decent efforts of their own.

“The whole experience was amazing, especially meeting Balotelli and getting involved with the other Liverpool players,' Van Velzen told the Daily Mail.

“It's every fan's dream to play football with their idols and I really enjoyed pretending that I wasn't very good at free-kicks.

“Seeing the players' faces when they saw me shoot was also really satisfying.”
