WATCH: Incredible long-range goal from the Airtricity League last night

St . Patrick’s Athletic midfielder Greg Bolger scored an early contender for Goal of the Season last night.

St Pat’s were in action against Derry City in the Premier Division and Bolger opened this scoring with this fantastic strike.

The midfielder gathered the ball just inside the Derry City half and unleashed a 45-yard lob worthy of David Beckham in his prime.

Derry goalkeeper Gerard Doherty raced to get back to his line, but could only watch helplessly as the ball dropped perfectly into the back of the net.

St Pat's went on to win 2-0.

Bolger has form for scoring worldies - this was his first goal in 18 months, but the last one was Goal of the Season for 2013.
