WATCH: Ireland’s latest call-up scores a beauty
Martin O’Neill’s decision to call Bournemouth’s Harry Arter up to the Republic of Ireland squad looks like a wise move after last night.
Arter was born in London, but qualifies for Ireland through grandparents and has played in green at underage level. O’Neill handed the player his first senior call-up for the match against Poland later this month.
Arter was in action against Cardiff in the Championship last night and scored this belter of a goal.
It wasn't a one-off either, the midfielder has scored seven goals so far this season. If he can reproduce that kind of form in an Ireland jersey he will be a very welcome addition to the squad.
Here is his 25-yard screamer seen from behind the goals.
