Celtic's Irish superfan Jay, 10, gets goal of the month nomination

The SPFL have released their nominations for the goal of the month for January, and a young Armagh lad is included.

Jay Beatty, who is 10 and has Down’s Syndrome, came to prominence on YouTube last year when Celtic celebrated winning the SPL.

Celtic striker, Georgios Samaras, was filmed lifting Jay up to join in the Hoops’ lap of honour last year.

Known affectionately as "Wee Jay", he got the VIP treatment during the Scottish giants' 2-0 win at Hamilton on January 19.

The youngster, who scored a goal at half time and celebrated in front of the Bhoys fans, can now celebrate his nomination from the SPFL.

David Goodwillie, Gary Macakay-Steven, and Mikael Lustig will find it hard to beat him.
