Van Gaal charged by FA after 'every aspect against us' comments
Manchester United boss Louis van Gaal has been charged by the Football Association over comments he made following his sideâs FA Cup fourth-round goalless draw at Cambridge last month.
Van Gaal said after the game that âevery aspect of the matchâ had been âagainstâ his team, including the referee Chris Foy.
A statement from the FA today said it was alleged that Van Gaalâs words âallege and/or imply bias on the part of the match referee and/or bring the game into disreputeâ.
The Dutchman has until 6pm on Monday to respond to the charge.
Having seen the Barclays Premier League giants held by their Sky Bet League Two hosts in the initial encounter between them on January 23, Van Gaal said: ''Every aspect of the match is against us - the pitch, the referee, everything that you can think about is against you."
He later repeated âevery aspect of a match is against usâ, adding: âYou have seen the referee. Itâs always the same.
âEverywhere I have coached these games â and I have coached them also with other clubs â itâs always the same.â
United won the replay 3-0 at Old Trafford on Tuesday night.
