Spanish defender's two-footed lunge sends manager flying

Rayo Vallecano manager Paco Jemez was on the receiving end of a painful looking challenge on Saturday - from one of his own players.

Spanish defender Quini was desperately trying to keep the ball in play during their game against Espanyol.

He managed to get a foot to the ball, but was then unable to stop.

The momentum carried him into what was essentially an aggressive sliding tackle - and ended with him clattering into his manager studs first.

Jemez did very well to pick himself up with minimum fuss and not make an issue of it, but the player was going at full tilt and made direct contact with Jemez’ legs.

Even with shin-pads on that would have hurt; without them it must have been agony!
