Keane claims MLS MVP award
Republic of Ireland striker Robbie Keane has been won the Most Valuable Player award in Major League Soccer for the 2014 season.
Keane - who plies his trade with Los Angeles Galaxy - beat out Obafemi Martins of the Seattle Sounders, New England Revolution’s Lee Nguyen and Bradley Wright-Phillips from the New York Red Bulls to claim the award.
Ireland’s record goalscorer has hit the net 19 times this season and offered-up 14 assists for his LA Galaxy teammates.
Keane will have the chance to add to his goal tally when LA Galaxy meet New England Revolution in Sunday’s MLS Cup final.
