Robbie's Galaxy win Western Conference to seal MLS Cup spot

Robbie Keane's Los Angeles Galaxy sealed their place in the MLS Cup on away goals after their two-leg clash with the Seattle Sounders finished 2-2 on aggregate.

The Sounders clinched a 2-1 victory last night in this second leg of the Western Conference Championship, but it proved to be in vain as Los Angeles set up a clash against the New England Revolution.

Bruce Arena’s men held a slender 1-0 advantage following last weekend’s opening match, but that was wiped out by Brad Evans’ 26th-minute strike.

Former Fulham and Tottenham forward Clint Dempsey struck six minutes later to put Seattle into the lead and give them hope of a first MLS Cup appearance.

But Brazilian midfielder Juninho scored what would prove to be a decisive away goal in the 54th minute and send the Galaxy into their ninth cup appearance.
