Haaland mocks Keane's beard

Alf-Inge Haaland has reacted to Roy Keane’s latest comments about him by comparing the former Manchester United captain’s beard to that of Saddam Hussein.

In his new autobiography, extracts of which were published in the media on Monday after a Tesco store accidentally put the book on sale three days before its official release, Keane has once again written about his infamous tackle on Haaland.

Keane is quoted by several national newspapers as saying in The Second Half: “There are things I regret in my life and he (Haaland) is not one of them.”

After the new quotes emerged on Monday, Egil Ostenstad contacted his fellow ex-Norway international Haaland on Twitter, writing: “Alfie. R Keane is at it again. Could we have a Twitter response mate?”

Haaland replied by writing “can’t take a man seriously when he’s got a beard like...”, with the message being accompanied by a picture of Hussein. The post was subsequently deleted.

Keane’s greying beard has grown considerably long over the last few weeks and generated plenty of attention.
