New-look Spain start strong

Spain defender Sergio Ramos has called for more of the same after the defending champions started their Euro 2016 qualifying campaign in style – but also urged fans to show patience with the new-look national team.

Following Spain’s disastrous World Cup defence and the loss of several senior players to retirement and injury, coach Vicente del Bosque opted for a host of new faces in his squad for Monday’s clash against Macedonia and was rewarded with a comprehensive 5-1 win.
