Van Persie starts for United
Robin van Persie returns to the Manchester United starting line-up as manager Louis van Gaal goes in search of his first Barclays Premier League win at Sunderland.
The Holland international is included in one of three changes to the side which lost 2-1 at home to Swansea last weekend, with he, Antonio Valencia and Tom Cleverley replacing Javier Hernandez, Jesse Lingard and Ander Herrera.
Sunderland head coach Gus Poyet makes two changes to the team which started the 2-2 draw at West Brom as Santiago Vergini and Will Buckley replaced Valentin Roberge and Adam Johnson.
