Malky Mackay issued a grovelling apology on Friday evening and vowed he would salvage his career – but hours later faced fresh allegations in the text message scandal.

The former Cardiff boss insisted he is not racist, sexist, homophobic or anti-Semitic, despite admitting to sending three “completely unacceptable” texts in an interview on Sky Sports News HQ.
