United close to signing Argentine defender

Manchester United could be about to make another new signing.

Sporting Lisbon defender Marcos Rojo has reportedly handed in a transfer request at the club and has told them that he wants to join United, who have reportedly tabled a €20m bid.

The 24-year-old Argentine international can play both left-back and centre-back, which would make him an ideal recruitment for the new 3-5-2 system being used by manager Louis van Gaal.
