Dutch late show spoils Mexican fan’s proposal

As Mexico’s game with Netherlands was heading towards injury time, a Mexico fan thought it was the perfect time to get down on one knee.

Little did he know that his side’s failure to defend a corner would result in the ball bouncing favourably for Wesley Sneijder to rifle home an equaliser in the 88th minute.

Then he and darling had to watch as a questionable foul on Arjen Robben handed substitute Klaas Jan Huntelaar a penalty that would send Mexico home.

On the plus side his beloved gave him the “sí” he was looking for and they do look like an adorable couple.
