German fans do some quality trolling in US

These American supporters had to face a sea of German flags when Thomas Mueller scored yesterday.

USA’s final group game against Germany last night has giant screens set up in Washington DC for fans to watch the action together.

The open area in Du Pont circle was packed with USA fans and also a small but vocal pocket of German supporters.

Americans may have outnumbered the visitors several times over but when Mueller scored the German contingent made sure they were the ones being heard.

As the majority of the crowd clutched their heads in horror Mueller’s compatriots cheered his goal and while German flags appeared out of nowhere.

They did not seem too concerned about offending their hosts and the sustained celebrations led to some boos from the US crowd.

All’s well that ends well though, as both sides made it through to the knock-out stages.
