Twitter reacts to Donal Óg's emotional Casillas lament
By Peter O’ Dwyer
Much like Donal Óg, Iker Casillas has been at the summit of the goalkeeping fraternity for over a decade; producing awe-inspiring saves from impossible angles, at crucial times.
With the Corkman now retired from inter-county hurling and the Spaniard looking likely to follow suit in taking his bow from the international game, the Cloyne man featured in a sorrowful and empathetic lament of Casillas’ current travails on RTÉ earlier.
Here’s how Twitter saw it:
Donal Og Cusack's piece on Iker Casillas was class. Sad to see the way the greatest goalkeeper in the modern era is struggling #SanIker

Donal og cusack with a lovely piece on iker casillas on #rteworldcup there. Summed up the existence of a keeper excellently

Largely well received, it seems it’s a topic that Cusack has had in his mind for quite some time given this Irish Examiner piece he penned at the end of May.
