Lescott to join West Brom

West Brom have announced the signing of Joleon Lescott.

The 32-year-old defender will officially join the club on a free transfer in July.

He has tweeted confirming the news.

Previously an Everton player, he joined Manchester City for a transfer fee of £22m in 2009.

However he had fallen out of favour in recent seasons and was released by the club in May this year.

A strong centre-back, he also contributes the occasional goal, such as this one against Man United in the 2012 Community Shield.
