Neuer and Lahm absent from Germany training
Bayern Munich duo Manuel Neuer and Philipp Lahm were absent from the Germany squad which met for a training camp in South Tyrol today.
Shoulder and ankle problems, respectively, mean the pair will arrive later in the week, although there are no doubts about their availability for the World Cup.
They will instead receive treatment from club doctor Hans-Wilhelm Muller-Wohlfahrt in Munich.
“I’m going to be joining the training camp in a few days,” Lahm said on his Facebook page.
“I’m therefore going to rest this week and spend time with my family before starting the Brazil mission from Friday.”
Both picked up their injuries during Saturday’s DFB-Pokal final victory over Borussia Dortmund, with captain Lahm forced to leave the field in the first half as a precautionary measure.
