Arsenal midfielder Aaron Ramsey missed out for the final Barclays Premier League home game against West Brom with a minor thigh problem.

Mathieu Flamini came in for the only change to the XI which beat Newcastle on Monday night, with Arsenal now secure in fourth place following Everton’s defeat by Manchester City.

There was a welcome return to the substitutes’ bench for midfielder Abou Diaby, who had been out for more than a year with a seriuos knee injury.

West Brom were looking to collect at least a point which would probably secure their top-flight status again. Defender Gareth McAuley returned to the substitutes bench after missing two games with a calf injury, while Saido Berahino led the attack ahead of a five-man midfield.

Arsenal: Szczesny, Sagna, Mertesacker, Koscielny, Monreal, Flamini, Arteta, Cazorla, Ozil, Podolski, Giroud.

Subs: Vermaelen, Rosicky, Fabianski, Sanogo, Diaby, Jenkinson, Kallstrom.

West Brom: Foster, Dawson, Lugano, Olsson, Brunt, Amalfitano, Mulumbu, Dorrans, Morrison, Sessegnon, Berahino.

Subs: Yacob, Sinclair, Myhill, Anichebe, Vydra, McAuley, O’Neil.

Referee: Mike Jones (Cheshire)
