Aston Villa and Belgium were reeling after striker Christian Benteke was ruled out for six months - and the World Cup - due to a ruptured Achilles tendon.

Aston Villa and Belgium were reeling after striker Christian Benteke was ruled out for six months - and the World Cup - due to a ruptured Achilles tendon.

Confirmation of Benteke's setback came from his club yesterday evening, after he underwent a scan having suffered the injury in an earlier training session.
