Chelsea confirm Mourinho surgery

Chelsea have announced manager Jose Mourinho underwent surgery on his elbow on Monday in an attempt to cure a long-standing complaint.

The 50-year-old oversaw Chelsea’s 3-1 Premier League defeat of Manchester United at Stamford Bridge on Sunday before attending a Football Writers’ Association dinner at the Savoy Hotel where he was honoured with an award.
