O'Neill announces new goalkeeping coach ahead of unveiling

A special press conference to officially unveil Martin O'Neill as the new Republic of Ireland football manager gets underway at lunch time.

The former Celtic, Aston Villa and Sunderland manager will also hold talks with the FAI chief executive John Delaney about the make-up of his backroom team.

Having already recruited Roy Keane as his assistant coach, the FAI announced last night that O'Neill has also brought in Seamus McDonagh to replace Alan Kelly as the team's goalkeeping coach.

The new Republic of Ireland football manager says he is "very excited and delighted" to take up the post.

In his first Irish interview at Dublin Airport, O'Neill said it is a great privilege.
