Crystal Palace defender Damien Delaney had been drafted into the Republic of Ireland squad for the World Cup qualifiers against Germany and Kazakhstan.

The 32-year-old’s inclusion restores interim manager Noel King’s provisional party to 26 following the withdrawal of Hull winger Robbie Brady because of a hernia problem.
