Kazakhstan claimed their first win in World Cup qualifying tonight, edging out the Faroe Islands in a battle between the bottom two teams in Ireland's Group C.

Although both sides are out of the running for a place in Rio next summer, it was still a competitive contest in which Frodi Benjaminsen fired the visitors in front in Astana before Nurbol Zhumaskaliyev and Andrey Finonchenko turned things around.
