Aguero in running to start against Newcastle

Striker Sergio Aguero is in contention for Manchester City’s opening Barclays Premier League game of the season against Newcastle after overcoming a knee injury.

Defender Matija Nastasic is missing due to an ankle injury but is expected to return to training next week.

New signings Fernandinho, Jesus Navas, Alvaro Negredo and Stevan Jovetic could make their debuts.
