Terry to miss another European final
Chelsea captain John Terry will miss a second successive European final tonight.
Frank Lampard will instead lead the Blues into tonight’s Europa League showpiece at the Amsterdam ArenA.
Terry missed the 2012 Champions League final through suspension and has been ruled out by an ankle injury as Branislav Ivanovic and Gary Cahill start in central defence, with Lampard and David Luiz in central midfield.
Oscar, Juan Mata and Fernando Torres – scorer of five goals in his five previous Europa League games – are the three further changes from the side which began last Saturday’s win at Aston Villa.
Benfica have included former Chelsea player Nemanja Matic and nine of the players who began the semi-final second leg win over Fenerbahce.
Benfica: Artur Moraes, Almeida, Luisao, Garay, Melgarejo, Perez, Matic, Rodrigo, Gaitan, Cardozo, Salvio.
Subs: Paulo Lopes, Aimar, Lima, John, Urreta, Jardel, Gomes.
Chelsea: Cech, Azpilicueta, Ivanovic, Cahill, Cole, Lampard, Luiz, Ramires, Mata, Oscar, Torres.
Subs: Turnbull, Mikel, Moses, Ferreira, Marin, Benayoun, Ake.
