Anthony Elding maintained his goalscoring touch with a double as champions Sligo Rovers beat Bray Wanderers 3-0 before a crowd of 2,684 at the Showgrounds.

The win means Ian Baraclough's side are the only one with a 100 percent record after two games to give them an early two-point cushion at the top of the Premier Division table.

In a generally poor game, Sligo were nonetheless the better side from the off and finally went in front on 39 minutes when Elding, who scored their only goal at Derry City last week, headed home a cross from Lee Lynch.

Bray came close to going in level at the interval as midfielder Gary Dempsey's drive from distance shaved Gary Rogers' crossbar.

Dempsey forced a good save from Rogers on 77 minutes before Elding struck again to seal Sligo's win ten minutes later.

Once more it stemmed from a good delivery into the area, this time from Ross Gaynor, and Elding's header powered to the net.

Substitute Kieran Djilali added a third goal in the fifth minute of added time when crashing the ball to the net from another Gaynor assist.
