Meyler withdraws from Ireland squad

Hull midfielder David Meyler was been withdrawn from the Republic of Ireland squad for Wednesday’s friendly against Poland after failing to shake off a knee problem.

The 23-year-old picked up the injury during his club’s 1-0 win at Millwall on Saturday, in which he scored the decisive goal, and despite reporting for duty with the rest of his international colleagues, has now been sent home.
