Red Devils face Hammers in FA Cup
Manchester United have been given a tough draw for the third round of the FA Cup.
Alex Ferguson's side must travel to Upton Park to face Sam Allardyce's West Ham who yesterday despatched of European champions Chelsea with a 3-1 win.
Ferguson’s 11-time winners beat the Hammers 1-0 in the league last week, but the two have enjoyed some memorable cup battles over the years, including when Paolo Di Canio scored the only goal of a surprise 1-0 West Ham win in 2001.
That defeat to West Ham was Rafael Benitez's third game in charge of the Blues and he sees his side drawn away to Southampton in the cup competition.
The two sides have yet to meet in the league this season and last met in the FA Cup in 1977 when Southampton knocked out the Blues in a third-round replay.
Another manager under pressure is Arsene Wenger after he saw his Arsenal side lose to Swansea at the Emirates, but he has a chance for revenge over Michael Laudrup's team as the Gunners have been drawn away to the Swans in the cup.
Roberto Mancini's Manchester City will host Watford while Merseyside rivals Everton and Liverpool will have to wait for replays to see who they face.
David Moyes' men will travel to either Cheltenham or Hereford, while the Reds must go away to Lincoln or Mansfield in January.
