Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers has told Reds fans not to expect an instant improvement – and to expect “a bit of pain”.

The Reds finished 37 points behind Barclays Premier League champions Manchester City last season and are currently in the bottom half of the table – 14 points off the pace.
