West Brom head coach Steve Clarke is optimistic Republic of Ireland striker Shane Long will have recovered from a hamstring injury to face Southampton in Monday’s home Barclays Premier League encounter.

Long has been left out by Ireland boss Giovanni Trapattoni for the friendly international with Greece on November 14 amid concerns over a hamstring problem.
