Police to investigate injury to match steward

Police today confirmed they were investigating the cause of an injury that hospitalised one of Chelsea’s stewards after the club’s acrimonious defeat to Manchester United.

A Stamford Bridge steward needed approximately 10 minutes’ treatment by paramedics after falling to the floor during yesterday’s Barclays Premier League game, with officials at the club confirming that he had hurt his knee.
