Kagawa out for four weeks

Manchester United’s Shinji Kagawa is facing a four-week spell on the sidelines with a knee injury.

The Japan international picked up the knock against Braga on Tuesday, meaning he will miss Sunday’s trip to Chelsea and the following weekend’s encounter with Arsenal, plus the return Champions League game with Braga and his country’s World Cup qualifier with Oman on November 14.

Chris Smalling has returned to training after a broken metatarsal but Phil Jones (knee) and Anders Lindegaard (thumb) remain sidelined as United look to record their first Premier League win at Stamford Bridge since 2002.

Provisional squad: De Gea, Johnstone, Rafael, Ferdinand, Evans, Evra, Buttner, Valencia, Nani, Anderson, Giggs, Scholes, Cleverley, Fletcher, Carrick, Young, Rooney, Hernandez, Welbeck, Van Persie.
