Friedel will start for Spurs

Brad Friedel will return in goal for Tottenham’s trip to Manchester United in the Barclays Premier League.

Hugo Lloris will be on the bench and defender Kyle Naughton could return after missing last week’s win over QPR with a foot injury he sustained against Lazio.

Emmanuel Adebayor (hamstring), Scott Parker (Achilles), Jake Livermore (groin), Benoit Assou-Ekotto and Younes Kaboul (both knee) are out.
