Goalkeeper Barry Murphy was the hero for St. Pat's as he saved three penalties in the necessary shoot out to put the Inchicore side through to the last four of the FAI Ford Cup after a dramatic quarter-final replay at Hunky Dorys Park.

Murphy saved from Tiarnan Mulvenna and Brennan brothers Sean and Gavin as Sean O’Connor, Jake Kelly and Vinny Faherty scored from the spot for St. Pat’s.

Liam Buckley's side now travel to Oriel Park to meet Dundalk in the semi-final on October 7th.

Derry City will host Shelbourne in the other semi-final the same day following tonight's draw.

After a scoreless first game, this replay finally exploded into life when defender Derek Prendergast headed home Philip Hand’s 79th minute corner to put Drogheda in front.

But St. Pat’s threw everything forward late on and levelled right on 90 minutes when a clearance ricocheted off striker Faherty to enter the net.

With extra-time failing to separate the sides, Murphy proved the Saints' hero in the shootout.
