Lloris on the bench for Spurs

Mousa Dembele made his full Tottenham debut as Andre Villas-Boas looked to register his first win in charge away to Reading.

Kyle Naughton made his first Barclays Premier League start in place of Benoit Assou-Ekotto while new signings Clint Dempsey and Hugo Lloris were named among the Spurs substitutes.

Reading boss Brian McDermott dropped Adam Federici from his matchday squad after three disappointing performances from the Australia goalkeeper.
