Milan suffer another home defeat
The curse of the San Siro continued for AC Milan as they lost 1-0 to Atalanta last night, having also been beaten by the same scoreline by Sampdoria in their previous home game.
Luca Cigarini scored the only goal of the game in the 64th minute as the Bergamese side took all three points at a venue where the home team, be it Milan or Inter, have yet to win in five attempts so far this season.
Milan went close enough on numerous occasions, but lacked a cutting edge as a tactically perfect Atalanta side took three points with them on their short trip home.
The result left Milan with only three points from their opening three games, while Atalanta now have two points having started the campaign with a two-point deduction.
In today’s other game Palermo and Cagliari shared the points in a 1-1 draw following maiden Serie A goals from Egidio Arevalo Rios and Marco Sau
The Uruguayan scored five minutes before half-time to give Palermo the lead, but Sau’s reply two minutes from the end meant both sides failed to get the win they were looking for.
The 1-1 draw leaves both island clubs still searching for their first wins of the season.
