Newcastle waiting on Douglas response

Newcastle were today awaiting a response form FC Twente after tabling a bid for Brazil-born defender Douglas.

The Press Association understands that the Magpies submitted a formal offer amounting to more than €4m last night for the 24-year-old and are now waiting to hear back.
