Gorman wins it for Shelbourne
Shelbourne 1 Bray Wanderers 0
Shelbourne may have had little luck in losing last year’s FAI Ford Cup final to Sligo Rovers.
But fortune favoured Alan Mathews' side for good stretches of this second round replay.
Kieran Waters and Jason Byrne had half chances for a dominant Bray before sluggish Shelbourne snatched what proved their winner in first half stoppage time.
Bray didn’t deal with Paddy Kavanagh’s diagonal ball into their area and it broke back to Philly Gorman who poked low to the net from about 12 yards.
Bray substitute Dane Massey saw his 83rd minute header come back off a post while, at the other end, man-of-the-match Kavanagh brought the save of the night from Darren Quigley a minute from time.
