Ayre: New man must show progress

Liverpool’s new manager will be given the time to build the club back up again but must show progress towards a top-four challenge, according to managing director Ian Ayre.

Owners Fenway Sports Group yesterday began the process of finding a successor for Kenny Dalglish after he was sacked on Wednesday.
