Sweeney returns to 'confident' Bray for Drogs clash

Bray Wanderers will go into their clash with Drogheda full of confidence after securing their first win of the season last week against UCD.

Drogheda have had a solid start to the new campaign but manager Mick Cooke was not impressed by their exit on penalties to Firhouse Clover in the Leinster Senior Cup on Monday.

Long-term injury victims Shane O'Connor (groin) and Stephen Brennan (hamstring) remain out for Bray while Pierce Sweeney returns after suspension.

Bray Wanderers Director of Football Pat Devlin said: "I'm looking forward to it I know it will be tough as it always is against Drogheda, but I'm looking forward to the challenge."

Drogheda pair Eric Foley and Paul Crowley are suspended while Declan O'Brien is a slight doubt after taking a knock in the Leinster Senior Cup on Monday.

Drogs manager Mick Cooke said: "Bray are a well organised side and they had a good win last weekend, so that will give them a lot of confidence.

"We had some wins there last season and I always enjoy going to the Carlisle Grounds. It won't be easy, but hopefully Monday was the kick that we needed."
