Liverpool semi will not be play on Hillsborough anniversary

The Football Association have confirmed Liverpool’s FA Cup semi-final against either Everton or Sunderland at Wembley will be played on April 14, ensuring that the Reds will not have to play on the 23rd anniversary of the Hillsborough disaster.

The tragedy, which occurred at the Sheffield stadium on April 15, 1989 where Liverpool were up against Nottingham Forest in an FA Cup semi-final, claimed the lives of 96 Liverpool fans.
