Derry City cruise to victory

Rory Patterson scored twice as Derry City cruised to a 4-0 win over Bray Wanderers at the Carlisle Grounds to take an early lead at the top of the Premier Division table.

Derry were 2-0 up thanks to goals from Stewart Greacen and David McDaid before Bray keeper Darren Quigley was harshly sent off for taking down Patterson in what appeared to be a case of mistaken identity on 33 minutes. Northern Ireland international striker Patteron then sent replacement keeper Brian Kane the wrong way.
