Rangers have been dealt a blow with the news that Kyle Lafferty could be out for a further six weeks as they prepare to travel to Inverness in the Clydesdale Bank Premier League on Sunday.

The striker has been out of action for a number of weeks already with a hamstring tear and faces being sidelined for another four to six weeks, although manager Ally McCoist is hopeful full-back Steven Whittaker will soon return following a hernia operation.

Lee Wallace has been ruled out this weekend with a knock sustained in last week‘s defeat to Kilmarnock, while fellow left-back Sasa Papac is suspended for the visit to the Highlands.

Provisional squad: McGregor, Bocanegra, Goian, Perry, Broadfoot, Kerkar, Davis, McCulloch, Aluko, Edu, Healy, Celik, Hemmings, Alexander, Wylde, McCabe, Bedoya, Little.
