Bale and King return to face Wigan
Gareth Bale and Ledley King both came back into Tottenham’s starting XI as they looked to return to winning ways in the Barclays Premier League against Wigan at White Hart Lane tonight.
There was a rare start for Niko Kranjcar, but Jermain Defoe, Roman Pavlyuchenko and Sebastien Bassong, who have all been linked with moves away from Spurs, did not make the matchday squad.
Another man who has been touted with a transfer from Tottenham, Steven Pienaar, was named among the substitutes.
Wigan’s want-away striker Hugo Rodallega was named on the bench and manager Roberto Martinez handed Jean Beausejour his debut.
